Hiroko Komatsu received The 43rd Ihei Kimura award in 2018. This award is usually for photo books, but in Komatsu’s case, they gave her exhibitions for the first time. The exhibits eligible for the prize was “Mirror Behind Hole – Photography into Sculpture Vol.4 Hiroko Komatsu,” gallery αM, Tokyo, Japan, and “THE POWER OF IMAGES,” MAST, Bologna, Italy.
